LOS Hooligans kept up their unbeaten record in La Liga on Saturday with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Sport C. California. The victory keeps them in second place in the league with 10 points from four matches, two points behind league leaders Instalaciones Simac, who are yet to drop a point. La Luna and Centro Jardines Alfabia are in third and fourth respectively and both teams have 100 percent records and games in hand.

Despite a number of MIAs and injuries, Los Hooligans put in their finest defensive performance to date and were unlucky to have conceded any goals at all after a fine display from right back Gaffer George, central defender Gareth “Fantasy Golf” Anwell and Jo “Break their legs” Devenny and Jamie “Kebab” Kerr switching at left back, while the whole team looked much more solid with Paul “Windy” Miller back in the goal after two weeks out with a leg injury. With Thomas “Former Capitan” Hamilton returning from international duty with Jamaica and the Fairy Islands there will be a battle for places in defence next weekend.

Stevie “Don’t call me Colgate” Griffiths played well pushing forward and tracking back and was unlucky not to have scored a brace after hitting the bar and post.  The Welshman’s trickery was a little too much at times but proved to on-looking WAG Jodie that he can still make it hard for himself.

Rumours of where WAG Audrey is while Dave is in Paris holding contract talks with PSG are still unfounded although Matty “Not so Fatty” O’Connor was looking a little stiff in midfield.

But it was the hard working performance from man of the match Chrissy “Subtitles” Barr, knocking in two goals (who cares how he scored them?) that made the difference in the end. Chrissy has now netted 12 goals in 4 matches making him the league Pichichi. Jamie “Kebab” Kerr curled a long range beauty from the left for Los Hooligans other goal. Richie "Invisible Man" Barr should have added more goals but hit the post and then got a second yellow card and sent off for trying to kill the goalkeeper.

All in all it was another fine team performance and one to build upon when Los Hooligans face Los Canoneros at the weekend.
