With a horrific injury list Paul, Lee, Bradford not able to play, Jamie and Ritchie carrying knocks , today’s game was always going to be difficult.  Our scouts had watched Eurocar previous game and saw them have an impressive 8-1 victory

The gaffer was left little choice and had to play our top goal scorer Chris in goal due to the injury of Paul. The first half saw a real battle with only the one goal for Eurocar.  Chances in the first half were few and far between, so going in 1-0 down at half time the Hooligans were confident they could pull it back.

Second half saw a change in tactics with Tom going in goal, allowing Chris to go back up front to get the goals we needed.  However it looked to backfire when Eurocar scored again to go 2-0.  But the hooligans didn’t let their heads go down and with the great support from the lines and bench, they continued to play their no nonsense style football and were soon rewarded when Chris got hacked down and was awarded a pen.  2-1.

Another crunching tackle from Sponge Bob

The hooligans were back and with some inspirational tackling and battling from the back notably from Dave Harvey the pattern of the game had changed and it was Euorcar who looked the most nervous.  Then a defence splitting ball from Ritchie allowed Chris to get the equaliser. 2-2

The ref was spoiling the game by punishing any tackle we made that involved any form of contact, this allowed the opposition many free kick opportunities and it was inevitable that they would score from one.  3-2

New boy Rob then received his second yellow card and it looked all over for the hooligans but then the ball broke free in the Euorcar area and with just seconds left Chris chased it down, the defender lost his bottle as did the ‘keeper and Chris ran through to nod pass the cowering ‘keeper!!!!! 3-3

A good point for the Hooligans in the end, with every player on the park outstanding and the support from the bench and crowd was tremendous.

But come the play off’s if we have to play Eurocar again with Paul back in goal and Chris up front, a comfortable win for the Hooligans should be the outcome.
